Redmi Note 7

Xiaomi is back with another special mid-range phone, and this one has got fantastic features in a mid-range budget. This thing comes with a gradient look, and there’s glass panel which looks gorgeous.

You got the high build, the performance, a camera, the battery life, and a low price all of the ingredients you need for a killer mid-range phone.

Redmi Note 7 Design

The Redmi note 7 looks quite similar to other mid-range phones, we’ve seen recently. But its specs pretty much blow out any of the competition in its price range. There’s a Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back, but this frame is made of plastic. Though it doesn’t feel cheap and since it’s a bit glossy and it blends in quite well. Overall it’s comfortable in hand, though since there is no curvature in the glass. The whole design feels a bit thick, and it has some weight to it.

Redmi Note 7 Display

The screen of the Redmi note 7 is a 6.3 inch IPS LCD with a 1080p resolution. It features relatively thin side bezels, but both the chin and the upper bezel are a bit on the thick side as expected of this price point. The water-drop notch cut out at the top is quite minimal.

The color accuracy isn’t the best, but the panel is plenty bright. However, it’s a bit reflective and leaves more to be desired as far as sunlight legibility goes. As an LCD there’s no option for an always-on display, but there is a notification LED.

Redmi Note 7 Performance and storage

There are three variants available in terms of RAM, and that is 3GB /4GB /6GB. You can grab anyone depends on your usage.

When it comes to performance, this is one of the significant factors which anyone considers before purchasing a phone. Performance-wise you will not disappoint by the Redmi note 7. It has a Snapdragon 616 chipset. You wouldn’t notice any lag or hiccups, and there were no throttling issues when benchmarking or gaming overall it has some of the best performance in the current mid-range category.

Redmi Note 7 Camera

The Redmi Note 7 has pretty stacked spec sheets and on top of the list is the camera. There are 48 MP+5 MP sensors on the rear panel, and the secondary is the depth lens. The phone uses a Samsung GM1 48 megapixel processor but the Snapdragon 660 only natively supports up to 25 megapixels. So what’s happening is that the Redmi note 7’s photo output is only 12 megapixels. Hence the pixels themselves are bigger 1.6 microns instead of 0.8 microns; so bigger pixels, more data, more information, cleaner brighter image, and better dynamic range.

The front-facing camera is 13 megapixels with fixed focus. The Redmi note 7 can take beautiful images on the daylight. In terms of the low lighting conditions, the images were grainy and were having some noises that were not impressive at all.

Redmi Note 7 Battery

The Redmi Note 7 battery is quite large at 4000 mAh, and you will get some pretty good battery life here. Again you weren’t disappointed; it scores an excellent endurance rating.

As far as charging goes, the included 10-watt charger was able to charge from 0 to 30% in half an hour. Not too impressive, but there is a bright side the phone supports quick charge for so if you can find one of those charges you’ll be in good shape.

Redmi Note 7 Features

For audio the Redmi note 7 has a single bottom, firing loudspeaker next to the USB C port and it’s impressive. It quite loud and sounds clean at those high volumes as well. The 3.5-millimeter jack is located at the top and with headphones plugged in. The Redmi Note 7 has some of the loudest output in the market. There is some distortion, but all in all, it’s very good, and you get FM radio as well.

If you want you can expand the storage beyond the standard 64 GB via micro SD so you can keep more media on your phone. However, this will take up the second SIM slot. The rear-mounted fingerprint reader is lightning fast to recognize you and unlock the phone, and there’s also a face unlock option. It’s a bit less secure though some people find it more convenient.

Usage Overview

It’s a perfect phone you can grab right now I mean in this price segment. It is the perfect phone with an ideal SOC. There are excellent cameras and displays also lovely, there’s glass panel with gradient finish. Now as far as downsize go there’s no new UI 10 operating system, and Xiaomi has not included the fast charger which is not nice. There’s no 4k video recording option although the chipset does support it and there’s no NFC from Xiaomi.
